Parto is operated by Dmytro Tkachuk, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada (“we,” “us”). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use Parto, visit our website or contact us.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information other participants add to shared expenses, and information generated when you use our services:

  • Account information: your email address, display name, account identifier, sign-in information, optional profile photo and any Payment Info you add, such as a payment app and handle.
  • Shared expenses: group membership, invitations, expense and item descriptions, selections, amounts, taxes, currencies, balances, recorded payments and notes.
  • Purchase information: product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, purchase and expiry dates, refunds and verification records linked to your Parto account.
  • Technical information: device and installation identifiers, notification tokens and preferences, connection information, error records, security events and action outcomes. RevenueCat may also process software details, connection times and country information from transactions or network connections.
  • Support information: your messages and any files or screenshots you choose to send. Please avoid sending passwords or unnecessary information about other people.

Parto records shared spending and payments; it does not transfer money. We do not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details from Apple's checkout. Face ID and other device authentication are handled by iOS; Parto does not receive biometric templates.

How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts, manage shared expenses, calculate balances, record payments, provide optional notifications, verify and restore purchases, understand subscription performance, respond to requests and troubleshoot problems. Security and operation records help prevent abuse, duplicate actions and unauthorized access.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on:

  • Our agreement with you: processing necessary to create your account, maintain shared expenses and balances, and provide purchased features under our contract with you.
  • Our legitimate interests: securing and maintaining Parto, preventing abuse, responding to support requests and understanding subscription performance, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Legal obligations: responding to valid legal requirements and keeping records required by law.
  • Consent: where required for a particular use of your information. You may withdraw consent by contacting us or using the relevant setting. This does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Information shared with others

People in your group can see membership information, your display name, profile photo and any Payment Info you choose to add. Your sign-in email address is not shown to them. Participants in an expense can see its details and each participant's share. Joining a group does not give someone access to every expense. Person-to-person balances and recorded-payment details are available to the people involved. Profiles can remain visible through shared financial history after someone leaves a group.

We use service providers to operate Parto:

  • Supabase: accounts, authentication, shared data and photo storage.
  • Apple: App Store purchases and push notification delivery.
  • RevenueCat: purchase verification, subscription access and reporting.
  • Cloudflare: website and link hosting, and support email routing.
  • Email providers: account messages and support correspondence. Resend supports deletion-related operator alerts when configured.

Apple also handles information under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary and permitted by law to protect people, secure Parto or address misuse. We limit these disclosures to information relevant to the situation.

Where information is stored and protected

Parto's primary database is hosted in the United States. Providers may process information in other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Parto uses authentication and access controls to limit access to account and shared information. No storage or transmission system can guarantee complete security.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. How long we keep it depends on the type of information, how it is used and applicable legal requirements.

Account information is kept to provide your account. Finalized expense and payment history remains after account deletion to preserve other participants' records, as explained below.

We retain limited purchase and subscription records for as long as necessary to manage subscriptions, restore purchases, resolve payment disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Support messages and attachments are kept as needed to address your request and related follow-up. Technical and security records are kept as needed to investigate problems, protect the service and prevent duplicate or unauthorized actions.

We may also retain information where necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Copies in backups and recovery systems may remain after information is removed from active systems, subject to the relevant provider's retention and deletion processes.

Deleting your account

You can request deletion in Parto. Open expenses where you are the payer are deleted, and you are removed from other open expenses along with your item selections. Where necessary, transfer group ownership first. The deletion screen explains any required actions. Contact us if you need help.

When deletion completes, Parto removes or replaces your profile name and email, removes your profile photo and push registrations, and disables sign-in. Finalized expense and payment history remains, with your profile details removed and your account shown as Deleted account. Text entered in expense descriptions and notes is not automatically rewritten.

Purchase verification and support records may remain linked to your account identifier. Account deletion does not automatically remove purchase and subscription records held by our subscription provider. It also does not cancel an Apple subscription or erase Apple's purchase records. Manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings.

Deletion cannot recall messages already delivered or remove copies other people have saved.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, remove your photo and turn notifications off in Parto or iOS Settings. Notification preview settings let you control whether previews include names and expense or group titles.

Contact help@parto.cash to request access, correction or deletion, or to ask about withdrawing consent. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to obtain a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a privacy regulator. We may need to verify your identity and protect other people's information when responding.

Children

Parto is intended for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact help@parto.cash. We will investigate and take steps to remove information we are not permitted to retain.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the effective date above. We will provide additional notice where required by law.
